Portia and DJ are college sweethearts that have survived nearly 2 decades of life together, have 2 amazing children, and have finally saved up for their forever dream home. After a brief stint in the NFL, DJ and Portia developed a taste for the finer things but having left the NFL very shortly after his career began, the two have had to be much more budget minded than they ever wanted to be. 

DJ has been working in local sports radio and local TV, and his personality and love of people can be felt by all his friends and family. They are the house to be at for every big game or family celebration. The problem is that they have a finished basement that brings nothing exciting to their new home. DJ has always wanted a space for entertaining and big time game watching; while Portia dreams of a grown and sexy space for adults to mix and mingle. Either way, the couple wants the finished basement to look and feel fine and luxurious but they need to watch their overall spending dollars.
